The Journey

A surgical day, demystified.

1

Free video consultation

Around 30 minutes, on video, any evening from 6pm

You meet the team that would treat you. They assess your hair loss pattern and donor density, answer every question, and tell you honestly whether surgery is the right path — or whether non-surgical treatment would serve you better. No cost, no obligation.

2

Procedure day

6 to 8 hours, under local anaesthesia

Follicles are taken one by one from the back and sides of the head — where hair is genetically resistant to the hormone that causes pattern baldness — and placed individually to build a natural hairline and density. Most patients spend the day watching films or chatting with the team.

3

Recovery and aftercare

Back to work in 5–7 days for most patients

You leave with a complete aftercare kit and the team's number. The transplanted hairs shed around weeks two to four — expected and normal — before the new growth cycle begins. PRP therapy is included to accelerate healing.

4

The new hair, growing in

Months 4 to 12, with a complimentary review

New growth becomes visible around month four; most patients see 50 to 60 per cent of the final result by six months, and the full outcome at twelve — documented at a complimentary review. The transplanted follicles are permanent.

Plainly Answered

The questions everyone asks.

How many grafts will I need?

Most patients receive 3,500 to 4,000 grafts in a single procedure, which covers the majority of common hair loss patterns. Each graft holds one to four hairs, so a session translates to roughly 7,700 individual hairs. Your own requirement is assessed at the free consultation.

Does it hurt?

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. The anaesthetic injections at the start sting briefly — patients consistently call that the most uncomfortable part of the whole day. After that, most people watch films in complete comfort.

Is the result permanent?

Yes. The transplanted follicles come from the back and sides of the head, where hair is genetically resistant to the hormone behind pattern baldness — and they carry that resistance with them.

Can women have a hair transplant?

Yes, with suitable donor density and a stable hair-loss pattern. The non-surgical treatments — PRP and photodiode therapy — are also particularly effective for the diffuse thinning pattern common in women.

What if I don't need surgery?

Then you'll be told so, plainly. For diffuse thinning, early recession and women's hair loss, PRP (£250 a session) and photodiode therapy (£500 for a course of six) are evidence-backed non-surgical paths — both painless, with no downtime.

Begin

Three doors. One decision.

Every treatment starts with a consultation at the clinic that would treat you — so the advice comes from the people who'd actually do the work, and the price you hear is the price you'd pay.
